Sarah Waller’s Design Studio, approaches each brief, each client and each site as an individual and a unique opportunity.  Our Architecture is the result of our client’s desires and the opportunity that the site and context provide.  Each and every project has its own identity, which is driven by our client’s lifestyle.

The Process

Brief:

We listen to our client’s needs and requirements and involve them and guide them through the entire process.  We are designing a response to their lifestyle needs and creating timeless modern Architecture, to provide a solution to their requirements.  We work as a team throughout the timescale.

Budget:

We consider not just the Architecture but also the practicality of our homes for our clients ever evolving lifestyle, each project is individual and unique, with its own identity and budgetary constraints.  We deliver projects that meet those budgetary requirements and are achievable within our clients needs.

Concept Design:

We interpret our clients brief and requirements through Concept Design Stage, liaising throughout to achieve the interpretation of their needs.  Our designs are simple yet practical response to their brief.

Working Drawings:

Once the Concept is approved we provide full Design Drawings and Specifications for the project with floor plans, elevations, sections, site plans and Scope of Works Schedules.  Closely liaising with the Consultant Design Team and Council throughout the process to achieve Design Approval.

3D Rendering:

Visualisation is the key for making a house into a home.  We have a team of experts that deliver photo realistic images of both the external Architecture and the Interior.  Our clients are given a unique insight into their completed home, before any building work starts.  We have found 3D to be the most useful way of presenting our designs to our clients, the visualisations clarify the design.

Interior Design:

For our Design Studio the interiors of our homes are all part of the Architecture, we design as a whole.  The details are what makes our homes amazing, our attention to these details and use of materials makes for great Architecture.  We design all elements of the interior from cabinetry to floor finishes and colour schemes.  All are clearly and concisely documented for our clients understanding.

Lighting Design and Home Automation:

Lighting Design is now such a key element of the design of our homes.  Lighting plays an important factor in our lives, creating mood and effect.  We also have to achieve energy efficient demands of the modern home.  Smart homes are part of our future, technology is available for fully automated lifestyles.

Environmental Design:

In today’s world we need to protect our environment, we need to meet thermal requirements and utilise our beautiful climate, year round.  We need to protect our water recourses and process our waste.  We need to be energy efficient and use sustainable materials where possible to protect our environment for future generations.

Outdoor Living:

Today our lifestyle is all about blending the internal with the external.  The outdoor spaces become part of the home.  We strive to blend seamlessly the transition from indoor to outdoor.  The landscaping is all part of our homes.
